I’ve casually flipped through magazines like Cosmopolitan, Vogue, etc. but quickly lost interest because the articles were all written to cater to Western readers. I found very less that I could actually relate to. Even the fashion pages carried photographs of models in dresses that I would never even attempt to wear. The agony aunt section has people writing in their problems that I didn’t even know were problems at all. Apparently the word ‘problems’ mean different things to different cultures. The cookery section had recipes to casseroles and pies and guacamole… none of which I cook. | |
